Creative Region and Cultural Capital 2017

The Central Denmark Region aims to support a rich and diverse cultural climate focusing on artistic development, creation of networks, an international outlook and collaboration.

Aarhus has been selected as European Capital of Culture (ECoC) in 2017.
The title European Capital of Culture (ECoC) represents one of the most prestigious and prominent cultural events in Europe. Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017 is supported by Central Denmark Region and all the municipalities in the region. It is deeply rooted in strong regional cooperation across the entire region.
The theme for Aarhus 2017 is “RETHINK” or in Danish “GENTÆNK”

The growth dimension More.Creative focuses on supporting the development and harnessing the growth potential of creative businesses. Creative powers and methods are increasingly important to businesses when developing new products, solutions and procedures. Opportunities for accessing new markets and supporting innovation and development in the business areas of the future will arise through cooperation across sectors.

SMEs in different sectors, public organisations, educational and cultural facilities and associations are all target groups for More.Creative.

A number of creative partnerships have already been selected to evolve their concepts and ideas over the next two years in order to become sustainable business clusters by 2017. They are active in the following fields:
