Society Shapers

Being part of Society Shapers requires a commitment to the process of change. We hold a few in-person gatherings throughout the year, often on weekends, where members collaborate on current issues and develop ideas for projects. In addition to that, we host virtual meetings and offer opportunities for members to get involved in smaller events and planning sessions.

You don't need to be an expert in any particular field – all we ask is that you bring your enthusiasm, your curiosity, and your desire to make a positive impact on society.

Society Shapers is not just about talking – it’s about taking action. Our primary goal is to empower young people to engage directly with regional leaders and decision-makers. We aim to create a platform where youth can confidently express their opinions, present their ideas, and work together to find real solutions to real problems.

Whether it's improving public transportation, promoting sustainability, enhancing mental health services, or making the job market more attractive for young people, we believe that young voices should be at the center of these discussions.

At the core of Society Shapers is a desire to bring democracy closer to young people. We want to break down the barriers between youth and political processes, ensuring that young people in Central Denmark not only have a seat at the table but are also actively shaping the conversations that define their future. We believe that the energy, creativity, and fresh perspectives of young people are essential to creating a stronger, more inclusive society.

Here’s a glimpse into some of the exciting activities and projects that Society Shapers are and has been involved in:

• Workshops on mental well-being and health equity: We have taken the pulse on some of the biggest challenges of our time and discussed solutions that can make a difference for both the region and the individual citizen.
• Discussions on the future labor market: How do we ensure that the Central Denmark Region remains an attractive area for future generations? This has been the focal point of several of our workshops.
• Participation in political debates and events: We have fostered dialogue between young people and politicians, jointly exploring how we can create even stronger connections between civil society and decision-makers.
• Development of ideas for improved public transportation: How do we make it easier and more accessible to get around the region? This has been a central theme in several of our projects. For example, we have presented our ideas for future public transportation to the Danish Parliament's Transport Committee and participated in a parliamentary hearing on the topic.
