Our work with responsible consumption

In Central Denmark Region, responsibility is part of how we run the healthcare system. We take responsibility for the climate footprint of our consumption by only using what is necessary – and by choosing solutions that have less impact and last longer. We strive to reduce our green gashouse emissions , while minimizing our resource consumption and environmental impact in terms of harmful chemicals and loss of biodiversity.

Our ambitions

  • We use only what is necessary for patient-safe treatment. We choose solutions that last longer and have less climate impact.

Our goals

  • We reduce the CO2 footprint from the consumption of goods and services by 30% (before 2030 measured in tons of CO2 with 2018 as the baseline and based on product CO2 emission data).

We prioritise

Minimizing resource consumption e.g., by supporting the transition from linear to circular consumption patterns and by reducing dependence on scarce and critical materials.

Increased recycling of waste, corresponding to 60% recycling measured in tons, as well as a 60% reduction in CO2 emissions from the waste area.
